Assalamualaikum and Hello to all my dear visitors....

I wish to thank you so much for your continuous support and kind words during my tough trying period. Your kind words and duaas had helped me a lot. Thank you from the bottom of my heart....

More things had happend to us for the last two months hence the silence of this page. InsyaAllah I will try to write more..... maybe not in here but at my new blog.... MamaFaMi's Journey of Life. It is still new and not really updated with all my grandmother's stories. What I managed to paste at the moment are the articles I find intresting and useful which I received in my email.

Since things are getting much better and organised, ALHAMDULILLAH, I managed to 'steal' some time to try out a number of recipes. This is my latest 'experiment', Rendang Daging which happens to be abah's favourite (I miss you so much abah.....) For the recipe, please click at MamaFaMi's Spice n Splendour

Till then, take care......

It is totally not easy to loose somebody whom you love dearly, all your life. But as a Muslim, we have to accept and redha with all that is written. My dad, HAJI AYUB BIN KASMURI, passed away peacefully on the 24th December, 2008 at 9.00 am. He was 73 years old. I, on behalf of my dad, wish to apologise if he had done anything wrong to those who knew him in person and if there is anything that he is still owing to, please contact us, his children or otherwise, please make halaal.

You may have noticed that I am addressing my late dad as MY DAD. It will stay that way forever because to me, my dad lives in my heart forever, until the day I will answer God's call. He was such a nice, loving person and I am not saying this just because he is my dad but that's the truth. You will not only hear this from me, but from almost EVERYBODY who knows him. Oh how I miss you ABAH.....

I am thankful to ALLAH for giving me the chance to be close to my dad for a good one month before he decided to answer ALLAH's call infront of me, Kak Ana and her hubby. That morning, I woke up early and went to check on him. I saw his face was shiny. I was relieved knowing that he's okay as the day before he wasn't well. I prepared rice porridge for his breakfast. At 7.30 am, I woke him up and fed him. Then I gave him his medicine. At 8.50 am, he started to take a deep breath, opened his eyes wide which he hardly does, and that's when I realised that he is in his 'nazak' state. Taught him The Kalimah Syahadah. Called Kak Ana and her hubby and they came to assist my dad. So the three of us was with abah when he took his last breath. He went very peacefully and with ease........smiling.....

The process to get him to his eternal resting place went very smoothly. We had a lot of help not only from those who know us but from strangers as well. All was done before Asr prayers the very same day. Alhamdulillah.

I wish to thank EVERYONE who had helped us until my dad was laid to rest. Thank you to Kak Ana and hubby for staying with me and my dad during his last moments. Thanks to my hubby's cousin, Abang Man and wife, my neighbour, Ita and family and my cyber friend Zai and daughters for staying with me at the Masjid Al Falah where my dad is being bathed and kaffan. Thank you to Kak Liza who had announced the sad news in her fotopage and to all who had done the same. To those who sent me condolences smses, thank you so much for all your duaas... Amin amin ya rabbal alamin...And not forgetting all the condolences wishes left in my page. Thank you thank you thank you. Your words had helped us a lot during our grief. May Allah blessed all of you.....

Al-Fatihah for my ABAH.....

I AM SORRY.....that's the best word that I can think of at the moment. It's been a while since I last update both my websites. Life had been so hectic plus challenging these past three weeks. A lot had happened. My parents are staying with my family now. But their health are deteriorating. At the moment, mom is admitted in Serdang Hospital and on tube. Went to see her yesterday night. Such sad sight with tube from her nose and mouth. My sister and brother took turn to stay with her. I am fully incharged of my dad whom the doctor suspect, might be suffering from a mild stroke.

Last Monday, while having breakfast, I saw mom gasping for air though she's using the oxygen machine. Told her to take it easy and reduce her movements as she likes to nod her head. I'm just afraid that motion will tire her. Then around 11am, she told me to send her to the hospital and wish to be warded as she can't take it any more. Called my brother to bring her to the hospital. I bathed and dressed my mom that day. The moment she left the house, I cried my heart out. I felt like a useless child! I only looked after her for 3 weeks and she had to be sent to the hospital!

But then again, I said to myself, everything is written and at least ALLAH still loves us as HE had arranged all these to happen when I am back in Malaysia and all the three siblings are near to each other. Not only that, we have our aunt with us who is familiar with the hospital procedures. At least that eases my mind....

So to all my dearest visitors, I am sorry if I am unable to attend to any questions asked, answer all the comments and if I hardly update my page. I am going through a trying period at the moment but with God willing, I hope I can update more often. Please bear with me and please make duaas for my parents health. Thank you..................

Last month when I was back home in Malacca, I had asked Cak for her donut recipe. Why Cak's recipe? Because her recipe is something different from the other Donut Recipes that I've tried. So Cak, thank you so much for taking some time to sms me the recipe. It was indeed very nice and well enjoyed by the family especially my mom.....Thank you....

1 medium sized potato ~ cleaned
1 cup lukewarm water
5 g instant yeast
1/3 cup cooking oil (I used corn oil)
1/3 cup lukewarm water
1/4 tin condensed milk
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
500g flour

Oil for frying

Method :

1. Boil potato till soft. Place the boiled potato with 1 cup of lukewarm water in a food processor. Puree.
2. Mix together instant yeast, sugar, 1/3 cup lukewarm water, cooking oil, condensed milk, salt and potato puree.
3. Add flour a bit at a time and rub using your fingers.
4. Add in the remaining flour, a little at a time till a soft dough is formed. (Note : The softer the dough, the softer the donut produced)
5. Take a bit of dough and make into small balls. Arrange on a tray sprinkled with a bit of flour. Leave to proof till double the size.
6. Heat oil in a pan. Make a hole in the middle of the dough and fry till golden brown.
7. Coat with castor sugar and ready to serve.

1 biji kentang saiz sederhana
5 g yis kering
1/3 cawan minyak masak
1/3 cawan air suam
1/4 tin susu pekat
1 sudu besar gula
1 sudu teh garam
500g tepung gandum

Kaedah penyediaan :

7. Salut dengan gula kastor dan sedia dihidangkan.
