Nasi Goreng MamaFaMI

Normally, during weekends, most of the mommies, especially working mommies, will spend more time in the kitchen, preparing a feast for the whole family. But it's opposite with me. Weekends are the time I spend less time in the kitchen especially when hubby is around. He'd say, come ma, let's go for a ride or let's go here, let's go there...and mama, being a 'kaki jalan' (someone who loves to go everywhere!), can never resist! Hahaha....If only all the countries in this world is just a ride away, I think, I've round the world! Haha...What's more, hubby would 'bribe' me by saying...don't worry, we'll buy takeaways! Ooooo heaven!

And these few days, as I was sick, that gave me stronger excuse not to cook...bad mama!!!! Spent most of the time resting, lying down and sleeping! Gosh..that feels good! Hmmm...getting lazy now! But yesterday morning, I made some Donuts for the Year 6 Fund Raising Raffles and some Chocolate Steamed Muffins for the PTA's Stall in Hillview. There's a Garden Club Fair at Hillview School yesterday. Alhamdulillah my muffins was sold out in an hour's time. I sent 12 of them. And as for the Donut Raffles, Kudaa Pronk, Helma's twins Bart & Evert and Andrew had been so kind enough as to go around the fair, asking people to take part. All they have to do is to pay 50kwaca (divide by 35 approximately to convert to RM), to guess how many donuts were there in the bottle. The price will be the whole bottle full of donuts...So anyone care to give a try...no prize though! And guess what, Mrs Pronk, Kudaa's mom won the donuts! Hahaha...Well done boys and thank you for helping me out! They managed to collect about 1,300 kwaca yesterday and all that money will go to the Fund Raising Account courtesy of MamaFaMi.

Since I neither cook anything during the weekends, nor did I bake anything, so I think I'll just paste how I fried my rice as requested by Acik. It's just a simple recipe, nothing fancy. Hope it suits your taste buds!

MAMAFAMI'S NASI GORENG

Ingredients :

White rice ~ cooled
Shallots
Garlic
Fresh chillies
Dried shrimps ~ soaked
Dried anchovies ~ soaked
Egg ~ lightly beaten
Mix vegetables or whatever vegetables to your liking
Salt to taste
Zeal ~ optional
Oil ~ for frying
Spring onion & crispy fried onion ~ for garnishing

Method :

1. Pound the soaked shrimps and anchovies.
2. Add in the chillies, shallots and garlic. Continue pounding till a rough paste is formed.
3. Heat oil and add in the pounded ingredients.
4. Fry till fragrant and add salt, zeal and egg. Stir well.
5. Add in mix vegetables and stir for a few minutes.
6. Finally pour add in the rice and fold in to combine.
7. Before serving, sprinkle some spring onion and crispy fried onion on top.
