Melting Moments...
I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING during the weekend! I was attacked vigorously and brutally by this deadly virus called L.A.Z.Y aka virus 'M' (malas). Don't know which doctor to seek help from, so I had to fight it myself! And since my antibody aka will power is not that strong, so the virus won!

Yesterday morning, hubby brought all of us to GAME again. I showed him Dolly's cute deep fryer photo the day before and he said, lets get one. I just have to agree with him, because this particular deep fryer doesn't use much oil and can fry like 6 samoosas at one go, according to Dolly. When we reached there, that deep fryer is nowhere to be found...booo hooo hooo I'm out of luck! Hopefully next time maybe they'll bring in new stock. Hubby ended up buying his stuff and the kids, their stuffs! You don't want to know......

Something funny happened yesterday actually! Both me and hubby really wanted to eat paru.
Semua hang punya pasai la Kuchai!!! Not sure what it's called in English....beef lung maybe??? So we went from one butchery to another to find this particular thingy. The funny thing is, I don't know how it looked like when it's not yet been cooked. But hubby said, he saw it in one of the butcheries. So we went and bought what he said is that thingy. When we reached home...hmmm...now what am I supposed to do with this thing. Since my online sifoo is not online, I called her. And she explained to me briefly, as she wasn't well yesterday...Sorry Kak Liza for always disturbing you! And I did what I was told to do...Once boiled, hahaha...it's not paru but liver. Now what do I do with this boiled liver??? Went through all the cookbooks in the cupboard, but all recipes suggested for curry. I don't think hubby wanted curry yesterday since he had said, I want to eat Paru Goreng Berlada. So, clever mama, I just cooked Hati Goreng Berlada...hahaha....and you know what...the taste wasn't bad either! So you see, mistakes never always end with failure! Just be adventurous! Psst....nak cover dah salah tu, pandailah cakap suruh be adventurous! Sib baik jadi sedap, kalau tak.......mesti tak citer kat sini...hihiihi.... So these were what we had yesterday....


Dozed off next to the pc...and when I woke up......GOSHHHHH....it was 4.30 am. Sehri (sahur) ends at 4.05am!!!! So we just have to fast without sehri! And this morning, hubby said, come let's go to Shoprite. I couldn't agree more. I need to go to Shoprite. Yesterday, felt sorry for the kids. They wanted milk shake but we ran out of icecream and from GAME, we thought of popping into Shoprite, just to grab a few things, but seeing the long queue at the tilt, really puts us off. This morning, the queue at the tilt, was quite alright, so I took my own sweet time to go from one row to another. Kids were at home watching TV and playing the computer game, giving mama some peace to do her shopping!

Started cooking for Iftar quite late as hubby took us for a ride. Hahaha...always 'blaming' hubby..when at the same time I am actually enjoying it myself...bad mama! Hahaha! So these were all we had....simple but filling...burppp...alhamdulillah......


I HAVE NOT started baking Eid cookies just yet. This photo is from my archive. Will paste a new one if I make them this year. I am pasting this recipe just as not to let down those who have been waiting for the cookies series.
Macamlahhhhh ada orang yang tunggu pun...hehehe....perasanlah kejap wei.... I got this recipe from one of my Malawi cookbooks. It's nice, easy to do and does not require much ingredients....do give it a try....


MELTING MOMENTS

Ingredients :

260 g butter
1/2 cup oil
3 1/2 cups flour
3 tablespoons cornflour
1 cup icing sugar

Method :

1. Beat butter, sugar and oil together till light and fluffy.
2. Sift flour and cornflour. Add to the creamed mixture to form a soft dough.
3. Pipe through a large star shape nozzle or drop spoonfuls on a greased baking sheet.
4. Bake in a preheated oven at 140 C until done.

What I did...

1. I add colors to the dough to give it a more interesting look.
2. I put one chocolate chip on top so that the cookie looks prettier.

MY MOM'S TIPS IN BAKING COOKIES

Never use up all the flour stated in the recipe at one go. Keep aside a good 30 grams or so. If you see the dough needs more flour, then only you add in the rest, bit by bit. This is so that your cookies won't be hard. Wallahu'alam.

Jangan masukkan air tau...Kuah tu datangnya dari jus tomato tu sendiri. Try lagi...don't give up...makan dengan meatballs, sedap.
