MEE BANDUNG

Yesterday for Iftar, we had just a simple menu of T-Bone Steak with Chips, Bubur Lambuk and sausage rolls for the kids. Hubby had requested for the bubur to be eaten for Iftar and also for sehri. It's not always I get requests like this from him, so it's such a pleasure to cook it yesterday. And again today, he had asked for the same dish for sehri. So after this, I'm going straight to the kitchen to cook. Sorry, I didn't snap any photos yesterday, was kind of lazy...By the way, the T-Bone Steak, we bought the marinated ones and all I have to do is just to grill them...easy kapeasy...And for today, hubby said, we'll buy Nandos takeaway for Iftar. Just to give mama a break....thanks dear....

As requested by Louise, here's my version of a simple Mee Bandung...if it can be called that la kan....Try at your own risk...hehehe.....

11. kuchai>> Mak ai....bionic nya hidung kuchai tu wei...psst...ntah-ntah cafetaria tu masak mee bandung tak hari ni?
12. Ouled Kenitra>> Actually, mama lebih suka mihun bandung....
13. nic>> Naper leh tak sempat masak nic? Busy kemas rumah ke? Tak pe, next week balik, buatkan mama nic permintaan dia tu ye....Tak pun, kalau kat rumah sendiri, nic buat and then freezekan. Nanti balik kampung, terus goreng je.
14. mommy_d&d>> Patutlah Danish nangis je, rupanya badan tak sihat. Better take good care of him. Kuih tak buat tak apa, boleh beli je kalau dah tak sempat sangat. Anak tu utamakan dulu. Hopefully, Danish sihat cepat. Bagi minum banyak air masak....flush out the heat...
15. nabialishad>> Samalah dengan mama. Mee tu tak campur sekali, takut kembang. Bila nak makan, baru senduk mee dalam mangkuk, then tuangkan kuah atasnya. Naper sejak kahwin tak pernah buat sendiri? Your other half tak gemor ke?
17. Mademoiselle Ayu>> Ayu ni balik-balik cerita ayah dia terror masak...sesekali tu pi la intai...pas tu catit resipi dan pas pas kat kami di sini....Leh gak cuba versi ayah Ayu tuu.....
18. Diana>> Mama dok intai dapur D...haa baik check kot ada hidden kamera somewhere in your kitchen...hehehe....
19. ::: ReActivate :::>> Romantik eh? Hehehe...ala dah tua-tua ni lagi romantik lagi bagus pe...Nanti awak sok kalau dah berdua, kenalah romantik selalu ye. Amin amin...moga masin mulut Zul mama jadi isteri mithali...aminnnnn....
20. Kak Leen>> Leen jaga diri tu baik-baik...makan pun nak kena jaga. Moga cepat sembuh ye...
21. Louise>> Most welcome dear. Happy hunting for the dried shrimps and lots of luck ya. Try the Chinese shops, maybe they have. The shrimp is actually to give the 'sweetness' to the kuah. But worse comes to worst, just use fresh prawns. When you clean the prawns, save the skins and heads and boil them with a bit of water to get prawns stock. Tapis and then use the stock in the gravy. Works too! But it's worth to have dried shrimps at home. Not only for mee bandung, but I used them for fried noodles, fried rice or even as rencah when frying vegetables. So worth hunting ya!
22. strozze>> Kat Bas station Tangkak ada gerai jual Mee Bandung Muar? Kedai mana eh? Dulu office mama kat situ...tak tahu pulak ada jual mee bandung Muar...aiseymen, melepas!
23. mas>> Thanks Mas kerana sudi mencuba resipi mama yang entah apa-apanya ni. Glad to know that Steve pun suka...pandai ye dia makan masakan Melayu? That's good...
24. louise louisekoh@gmail.com>> Well done girl. I am soooo happy that you got to taste your self-cooked mee bandung abroad. Who said, staying abroad you can't eat whatever they are having at home! With a little bit of effort, we'll be able to enjoy the same food as well...well, not 100%, but 80% is there right? About the fresh noodles, why not buy one pasta machine, and the recipe is here.
25. alia alsagoff kirztenblu@yahoo.com>> Tak boleh order online ke? Or tak boleh ke suruh sesiapa poskan aje dari Malaysia kalau postage tak mahallah. Kalau mahal, not worth it. Ovalette boleh digantikan dengan Quick 75. Mama punya stok ovalette pun dah tinggal nyawa nyawa ikan je...sedeyyyy je....
