BUBUR LAMBUK JOHOR STYLE (Duyong95)

Breakfast and breakbox
Sumthing new, sumthing ol'
Lunch
Bubur lambuk Johor style
When typing this entry, I have only about 15% energy left. Was so worn out today! Busy from as early as 4.50am, right till now. The clock is showing numbers 20:40 pm. I started off with the kids breakboxes. Made for them chocolate coated donuts and extra burger for Syahmi's lunch as he has afternoons on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Saw them off to school, then straight into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for hubby. Made a sort-of modified Lepat Pisang out of the leftover Cekodok Pisang mixture from yesterday night's 'dinner'. Added a bit of this and that and wallah....my Lepat Pisang is ready! Hubby ate 5! Not bad huh! When I was actually flipping through my thick printouts for the Lepat Pisang recipe, I came across this Bubur Lambuk Johor Style recipe posted by Duyong95 from Forum Cari. Since it looked simple to prepare, I straight away carried out my mission.....accomplished and the taste is lovely as well! Thank you Duyong95 for the recipe...

Before leaving for school, Fatin had asked me if I could do for her Lebanese Bread. She had eaten it in school and she actually bought for me a piece to taste. So I browsed through the internet and found the recipe. Got on to work, and I made Sausage Rolls as well. Made that to return Naseem's container.

Then cooked lunch which was thoroughly enjoyed by hubby. Infact, while eating, he kept on saying...it's delicious...your cooking is so delicious. MasyaAllah....I am on Cloud 9 !!!! It's not always I get to hear that phrase...so I'll enjoy it while I can....hahahaha...

From home, dropped hubby at the office, Fatin at afternoon school and straight to pick Syahmi up. Then off to Helma's house to drop the cookies for Haleema in Johannesburg since Helma's flying there early tomorrow morning. From Helma's, we went to Renuka's house to drop and collect something, then straight to Naseem's. Went to help her do more cookies. Yesss I played masak-masak at Naseem's today. We made choc-kits and chocolate biscuit. They are lovely but sorry all, I don't have her recipe...

When Fatin's class was over, we went to visit the new mall. Well, it's nice, but just crowded and I am not so comfortable. Saw that Kenwood Chef, touched it and left it...Bought a few stuff and off we head for home feeling too exhausted. So, soon after posting this...I'm off to Dreamland.........................

For today, I'll put the recipe from Duyong95. But you have to just play around with the amount of the ingredients ya....

BUBUR LAMBUK JOHOR STYLE

Shallots ~ pounded
Garlic ~ pounded
Ginger (just a bit) ~ pounded
Minced meat
Kurma powder
fried grated coconut (kerisik)
Salt to taste
Carrots ~ diced
Potato ~ cleaned and diced
Rice
Enough water

To garnish :
Spring onions ~ chopped
Crispy fried onions

Method :

1. Heat oil and add in the pounded ingredients. Fry till fragrant.
2. Add in minced meat and stir.
3. Add in the kurma powder and fried grated coconut (kerisik). Stir well.
4. Wash rice and put enough water like how you prepare porridge.
5. Pour (3) into (4) and stir to mix.
6. Let it boil and add in the diced carrot and potato and leave to cook.
7. Before serving, garnish with spring onions and crisp fried onion.

Note :

1. I added green beans cut to small pieces just for the color.
2. Before removing the pot from heat, I heat up a little bit of oil and add in some sliced onion. Fry till fragrant and golden brown, then pour all of them into the porridge and stir to mix. My mom said, this method is called tumis darat.

My family and I take this opportunity to wish all Muslim Ramadhan Mubaraq. May ALLAH bless us with joy and Nur into our life and grant us total forgiveness, insyaAllah......
