Biskut Coklat Rice
I am so tired today. Spent three hours in the morning to scrub the dining chairs. Actually they weren't mine, but the company's. We sold our dining table (bukan 99p aa Imah) last Saturday. That's quite a relief, though I felt sad to see it go. The dining set had been with us for the past 8 years plus. Got it from Sri Lanka. Relieved because, when we finally have to leave Malawi for good, there'll be less item to be packed and unpacked later on...plus...I'll get a new dining set...hehehe....

Since the dining chairs had been locked up in the store room for quite a while, so obviously they'll be so dusty. So firstly, I had to vacum all the eight chairs then made Grachian, my gardener to scrub the cushion with soap and lots of water. Let it rinse for a while then again my vacum came to the rescue to remove the excess water in the cushion so that the chairs will dry faster. That last process took quite a while. We did only four chairs today, just to see whether it's okay or not. Seems alright to me...so maybe tomorrow or Friday, we'll finish up with the other four.

Actually when I woke up this morning, I had set up my mind to do this and that...and I am determined to do it (even if not all) though I was so tired. And since those experiments are still in the oven, so I won't be able to post the reports today. Instead, I'll paste this other cookies that I made previously. Thank you Kak Liza for this CHOCOLATE RICE recipe. They are crunchy and just wonderful. Care to give it a go...here's the recipe...



BISKUT COKLAT RICE (CHOCOLATE RICE COOKIES)

Ingredients :

250 g butter
150 g castor sugar
1 egg yolk
50 g corn flour
230 g multipurpose flour
30 g cocoa powder

Decoration :

Paper cups
Chocolate Rice/Chocolate Vermicelli
Chopped almonds

Method :

1. Cream butter and sugar.
2. Add in egg yolk and mix well.
3. Sift together, cornflour, multipurpose flour and cocoa powder.
4. Add sifted dry ingredients into the creamed mixture, bit by bit.
5. Using a Dahlia mould, pipe the mixture into the papercups. You don't have to use petitin.
6. Sprinkle with chocolate rice/vermicelli and chopped almonds.
7. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 170 C for 25 minutes.
8. Remove from oven, let it cool and store in an air tight container.

Note :

1. I used margarine.
2. Instead of multipurpose flour, I used cake flour.
3. Besides Chocolate Vermicelli, I sprinkled with Caramel Vermicelli.
4. At first, I used the Dahlia mould but then I find it a bit tedious. So I used my piping bag with the big nozzle.

Mama tanya kat hubby, I don't want that Kenwood Chef but I want Kenwood Major and the price is around RM3,000.00, boleh ke tak? Since jawapannya BOLEH, perh...terus tak mau dah Kenwood Chef...hehehe....Reason why I wanted Major, so that boleh uli banyak sekali untuk buat roti, roti canai, mi kuning dan yang sewaktu dengannya. Mixer yang ada sekarang ni, bolehlah digunakan untuk kerja-kerja ringan gituuuu...baguih dak strategi!
