PUTERI AYU

Puteri Ayu
Didn't update the page yesterday because I wasn't in the mood for updating, but that does not mean I didn't log in to my page. Yesterday, I was into MIDI search, and if I'm not mistaken, I've changed the song on my page for 4 times in 3 hours time. Hahaha...each time I came across a MIDI webpage, the songs are getting better and better which makes me difficult to decide which one must I choose...Finally I settled down for Dealova...and that was because, I was so sleepy and I need to go to bed! Otherwise.......

So here's the back dated report...On Friday, these were what we had for lunch......

And this morning...err...not THAT morning I must say, it was past 10, we had these plus the recipe for the day, for breakfast. I got this recipe from Puan Zainab, a Malaysian friend whom I got to know when we were together in Sri Lanka. And she got it from Puan Hasnah, also met in Sri Lanka. Thanks to both my friends for sharing this recipe with me so that I can share it with all of you....

And here's the recipe for the day....

PUTERI AYU

Ingredients :

180 g sugar
250 g flour
1/2 tablespoon ovalette
3 eggs
1 glass screwpine juice
green coloring
fresh grated coconut + salt to taste

Method :

1. Beat egg and sugar till white and fluffy.
2. Add in ovalette and continue beating.
3. Fold in flour.
4. Pour in the screwpine juice.
5. Press a bit of coconut onto the base of the mould.
6. Pour the mixture on top.
7. Steam for 10 - 20 minutes.
8. This recipe yields 30 pieces.

Note :
1. Actually when I made this today, it didn't turn out as fluffly as I did the first time. Not sure what went wrong. But the taste is there and the texture is still soft and spongy.
2. I didn't use screwpine juice. Instead, I mix the water with vanilla essance.
3. And as you can see, I used 3 colors, red, yellow and green.

Ceritamu, ceritaku...
Quote:
gee>> Tak apa lah Gee, Anis belum besar lagi...nanti dia dah besar sikit dan dah boleh makan, bolehlah Gee mulakan enjin rajin tu ye....
2. za+za>> Mama pun not so into kelapa, that's why I put just a bit, buat syarat...
3. rossya>> There goes Speedy Gonzales!
4. rozzan>> Ampunn tuanku, patik tak tahulah siapa penciptanya....
5. yangmazni>> Tak de acuan? Tapi jangan terkejut kalau tiba-tiba keluar je kuih Puteri Ayu ni kat fp Maz, versi McGyver!
6. muni>> Mama ni tak berapa suka kelapa sebenarnya...tapi nak wat cam no, kuih Melayu banyak guna kelapa...
7. mommy_d&d>> Mama pun pernah dengar orang panggil tiwul ayu. Don't know what that means, but then, tak kisahlah...Actually resipi asal pun kaler hijau je, tapi mama ni kan suka main dengan kaler...tu yang jadi kaler traffic light tu!
8. nn>> Nak berjiran, apa salahnya...hehe...bulan puasa, tak tahulah Noni...silap-silap, mama off tak? Hehehe...
9. kc>> Esh...awat pi sebut Lopis ni...nanti teringin la plak haaa....
10. Noor>> Sajalah boh lagu ni sebab curious, banyak fp yang kita masuk, ada mention Dealova...nak gek tahu cam mana bunyinya. Not bad eh? Tiwul ayu kita kali ni pun tak segebu the first time I made. Entah mana silapnya...
11. Mademoiselle Ayu>> Amboi bukan main lagi dia bersantap ye! Ayu tahu tak...masa mama dok godak kuih ni, mama dok teringat kat Ayu...mama kata...ini kalau dak Ayu nampak ni, mesti dia kata tribute to Ayu...hehehe....
12. sahar+zabar=wani&mimi>> Sama-sama...
13. mummy jam>> Kita tak tahulah cam mana rupa tae bak ni...mummy goreng mesti sedap...tu sebab satu kuali besar pun boleh licin!
14. thecupcakedeli>> Nanti bulan puasa, mama mesti terasa miss pada Kak Lia...dulu kalau puasa ke tak puasa ke, kalau buat makanan, mesti hantar ke rumah dia, vice versa. So kalau bulan puasa, ada je extra juadah. Ni dia dah balik for good...nampaknya, apa yang dimasak, itu sajalah yang dimakan....
15. Mrs.NAsH>> Lama tak nampak Mrs.NAsH. Apa khabar? Birthday hari tu, Mr.NAsH masak apa ye? Hehehe...tu la, orang kata 2 is a company, three is a crowd...sampaikan apam pun boleh tukar kaler hijau...hehehe....

18. amy>> Look who's talking. Amy tu lagi rajin. Busy but still boleh cook macam-macam. For tapai, mama tak berani nak cuba buat. Selalu kantoi bila guna ragi. But you can refer to Kak Rossya's page sebab dia pernah post resipi tapai...Kalau Amy masuk situ, baik siapkan kain lap...kotlah air liur meleleh tanpa disedari.....yummy delicious food kat situ tau.....
19. S@BRiN@>> Bendi goreng ni jarang jumpa dijual mungkin pasal lendir bendi, yang menyebabkan presentation not so nice kot. Goreng sendirilah Sab. Macam mana yang tak jadinya? Tak apa, cuba lagi ye...

24. KACANG PARANG>> Terima kasihlah kerana sudi bertandang ke mari ye....
25. Elizabeth>> Hello Elizabeth. Thank you for dropping by. The 250g flour in this recipe is multipurpose flour or you can also use cake flour. I've come across Diana's Dessert's Forum discussing about ovalette. Please click at that link to find out more about ovalette in USA. Sorry to say that I haven't tried making Putu Piring as it needs a special steamer for that.
26. cheryl ariel_gal@hotmail.com>> Thanks for sharing the information Cheryl.
27. pae fae_ez21@yahoo.com>> Nanti bolehlah cuba ye...
