Didn't update my page on Monday night as I was feeling very sleepy and tired at the same time. Thought of doing it this morning, but I was flat the whole day. And now is 10pm, Tuesday, is still up because I'm waiting for the washing machine to finish doing it's job so that I can put the clothes in the dryer. Anyway, yesterday, I was tired because Mrs. Last-Minute dot com went shopping for the kids school shoes to be worn today! And when everything is done on last minutes basis, there are chances you can't get what you are looking for in the shop where you normally can find them easily. We had to go from shop to shop! Alhamdulillah finally we managed to get what suit the kids' taste. And this morning, the kids started their new school term. The house was just so quiet without them and I felt very lonely....coz I miss my babies......



Last Friday morning, around 11 am, had a wonderful surprise. Dolly and her youngest son Hassan dropped by our place to give us a big pot of Akhni Rice. I just love her Akhni and will definately miss it very much when I finally have to leave Malawi for good. We had that for lunch, alhamdulillah.Thank you Dolly dear...



After the Friday prayers, we went to Dolly's house. We thought of baking some cookies together but then she wasn't able to get the main ingredient for the cookies. So we ended up cutting the agar-agar (Chinese grass) that I've brought along , into smaller pieces and packed them in 20g packets. The agar-agar that I had from Malaysia is in a 1 kg packet. And since I don't have a digital scale which I presume is more sensitive, so I just have to use Dolly's. Anyway, what are friends for huh Dolly...yeah to trouble them! Hahahahaha! When I came back from Dolly's house, I just can't wait to try this Dadih recipe that I've been wanting to try for quite sometime. I got this recipe from Dr. Ezura's fotopage. Thank you Dr Ezura for the recipe which she named after her cute daughter, Jihan. For the original recipe, please refer here. I love this Dadih!

DADIH JIHAN

Ingredients :

4 litres water
440 g coffeemate (coffee creamers)
500 g sugar
1 can evaporated milk
1 packet Crystal Jelly powder (original flavour) - 10g
flavouring ~ strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, coffee...

Method :

1. Boil water on medium heat.
2. Add in jelly powder and stir well.
3. Add in coffeemate and keep on stirring.
4. Pour in the evaporated milk.
5. Add in sugar, stir and taste. You can add more or lessen the sugar to suit your taste.
6. Leave to boil for about 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
7. Pour a bit of the liquid in a small jug, add in the flavouring and pour into small containers.
8. Repeat step 7 with different flavours.
9. Keep in the fridge to set.

Note :

1. I made just 1/4 recipe and I managed to get 11 cups.
2. I used the strip agar-agar. I blended the strips into powder....improvised version!
3. I used fresh milk instead of evaporated milk.
4. I didn't put sugar, but just Nesquick Strawberry Flavour. I didn't measure how much I put, just keep on tasting.
5. I didn't use any flavouring because it comes with the Nesquick.

Puaslah makan dadih stoberi....Kalau ikut resipi Kak Liza, dia guna chocolate milk. Rasanya kalau dah guna Choc Milk, tak payahlah nak tambah cocoa powder lagi....
