CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES (SIS ROSSYA)

Chocolate Chip Cookies (Sis Rossya)
The texture...
Today was just not my day I guess. Got up with my 'unwanted friend' aka headache, tugging to me like my shadow. After hubby left for work, I took a panadol, then went to bed with a 5kg dumb bell on the head! I normally do that just to give pressure to the aching side of the head. Slept till 12.30am! Gosh...I slept that long and still this 'friend' refuse to leave me alone!!! Quickly went to the kitchen to prepare lunch only to receive a message on the phone from hubby saying he's not coming back for lunch!

Then at 3.00 pm, I went to the kitchen. I just NEED to get busy so that my 'friend' will just go away. So I made sausage rolls and a Chocolate Rice Cake. But like I said, today is just not my day! Heat the oven to bake the cake, but forgot to turn the setting to bake, just heat. After 30 minutes I went to check, it was nice and flat on the top. And when I use the skewer to check, it's still wet, so I left it, still not realising that I've forgotten the setting! I think I left it a bit too long, it was quite burnt on top! ARGHHH!!! But alhamdulillah, it's only the top that I had to get rid off, the cake was fine. After setting the oven to the baking mode, I put in the sausage rolls. A bit too long in the oven as well and that gave an 'extra' golden color, but the texture was soft and spongy that I can't resist helping myself to a sausage roll...After that, I said to myself, I must not do anything else for today, or otherwise, God knows what will happen next! Hahaha....And guess what....my 'friend' left me.................I'm freeeeeeeeee........

For today's recipe, I'll paste the other new Chocolate Chip Cookies that I've tried yesterday with Fatin. Many of you must have seen it in Sis Rossya's fotopage. Yes, I did her version of Chocolate Chip Cookies and I think, I've found the recipe that suits my taste buds! Thanks a zillion thanks to Sis Rossya for sharing with us this wonderful recipe. It's so crunchy and yummy! But I had to cut down the amount of chocolate chips as I'm running short of chocolate chips....

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES (Sis Rossya)

Ingredients :

8 ozs butter
5 ozs castor sugar
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
a pinch of salt
1 cup Milo
10 ozs self-raising flour
6ozs Hershey's semi-sweet mini chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 egg yolk

Method :

1. Beat butter, sugar, salt, vanilla essence, cream of tartar and bicarbonate of soda till creamy.
2. Add in egg yolk and continue beating.
3. Add in Milo and chocolate chips.
4. Finally add in self raising flour.
5. Take a small portion of the dough and arrange on the tray. Leave some space in between each dough.
6. Bake till golden brown, about 15 minutes.

Note :
Since I don't have ready made self-raising flour, so I made it myself using this formula : Add 2 level teaspoons baking powder to 150g flour. Sift trice.

Ceritamu, ceritaku...
Quote:
1. anna>>Mama ni punya 'friend' memang tak leh bagi muka. Kalau lagi dok layan dia, lagi tak hilang. Baiklah mama sibuk kat dapur, lama-lama terlupa! Amboi, bukan main pandai lagi dia menggayakan cookies ye...
3. Shah, Sya, Syahmi>>Oh daddy balik, ibu relax la sikit eh....Mama saja buat cookies, at least the kids ada something to munch kalau lapar.
4. mommy_d&d>>Betullah tu description mommy. Yes, cookie ni memang ringan dan bersarang. Tak percaya, cuba buat sendiri....

10. Kuchai>>Seriously la Kuchai, I slept with that 5kg thingy on my head! 5kg tu nothinglah. Sometimes, I made my son sit on my head tau kalau dah terlalu sakit. Tapi that day, kesian pulak nak dera dia! But he's such an angel, whenever I asked him to do that, he'll sit obediently untillah either mama said, ok or mama dah terlelap. Aiyoo Kuchai, nantilah mama try convert to cups eh...la ni, dah dok depan pc, malas nak bangun aarrr...

14. rossya>>Dia datang..jeng jeng jeng...dengan senyum simpullllnya...dia datang..jeng jeng jeng...Hehehe. Thanks kak for the recipe. It's really nice. Milo in Malawi datangnya dari South Africa but the taste wasn't as good as Malaysian's Milo and the price....harga one small can yang 250g tu lebih mahal dari the 1.5kg tin in Malaysia!
16. nic>>You're welcome nic. Good girl, don't give up easily okay! Choc chips ni pun Nic try nanti tau. Mesti your sister suka...
17. nina>>Jangan kata tak pandai...practise lebih-lebih nanti sok terror la! Cream of tartar ni macam bicarbonate of soda, white in color. Try this cookies, it IS crunchy. All the best!
18. zack>>Oh mak ai...penuhlah kuih raya kat rumah Zack nantinya....tak tahu mana satu tetamu nak makan!
19. kak kham>>500 keping Kak Kham? Ni betul punya nak buat open house!!!!
20. Gang Melaka ismail.said@ctrmact.com>>Selamat datang gang Melaka ke 'rumah' orang Melaka...lighting? Apa tu? Hehehe...inilah dia cara orang dapur ambik gambar...hahaha....
21. mummy jam>>Sedap kan mummy....
22. saljudidanaurindu>>Sama-sama Salju. Nanti buatlah mana-mana yang berkenan ye......Amboi dah ready nak raya nampaknya!
23. |misniaa|>>Cubalah ye, insyaAllah sedap dan crunchy sekali...
Biskut menjadi leper, mungkin kurang tepung, terlebih butter ataupun mungkin terlebih pukul. Cuba lagi ye, jangan putus asa. Good luck!
28. hani>> Alhamdulillah gembira mama mendengarkan feedback dari Hani. Untuk makluman Hani, mama hanya punjut punjutkan aje. Macam drop cookies aje. Tak de shapekan pun...
