This morning, I had a hard time to decide on the lunch menu. At first, wanted to do this, then changed my mind to that, and that continued until it's too late for me to take out the meat (whatever it may be...chicken, beef or fish) for defrosting. So had to cook something that doesn't take time to defrost, dried anchovies! Hehehe....Well, I've decided on Sambal Ikan Bilis (anchovies) and Kobis Masak Lemak. Hmm...something is missing because I remembered last time when I served this menu for lunch, hubby had asked for fried chicken to go along with the sambal. Now what..it's too late to fry chicken! Then I remembered the prawns that I had bought yesterday. Now how do I go about frying these prawns??? So I went to the computer and saw my Sifoo Hanieliza is online! She told me what to do and I obediently followed the instructions! And so, these are what we had for lunch....alhamdulillah....well enjoyed...Thanks Kak Liza for always coming to my rescue!



But I wasn't in much luck this evening. Kinda frusterated but no regrets though. I made 4 things and 1 is a newly tested recipe. Well, if I were to give marks to each of the dishes I made, then the highest will be just 59%. The lowest? You don't want to know!
    1. My pizza pinwheels fluffed up nicely, but I forgot to take it out on time and that gave an 'extra golden' color to it .
    2. The curry puff filling was ok...
    3. The newly tested recipe was lack of gravy...if only I had poured the whole chicken stock into the gravy, it'll be more delicious.
    4. Last but not least, my mini buns was a dissappointment! At this moment, I'm still waiting for it to rise!!! Don't know what went wrong....
I am not perfect so these things are bound to happen. I just hope it won't happen too often!

Anyway, for today's entry, I think I'll paste a couple of recipes to share with you...The first one is Kacang Boncis Goreng, the simplest ever dish, requested by Sabrina. Here you go Sab......



The second one is the new recipe I learnt from Kak Liza this morning....Oops...now what shall I call it? Hmmm...will FRIED PRAWNS be alright?



FRIED PRAWNS

Ingredients :

12 prawns
1/2 teaspoon tumeric powder
Salt to taste
1 Onion ~ sliced thickly
1 Fresh red chillie (I used green pepper because I don't have any red chillies)
Oil for frying

Method :
1. Mix prawns with tumeric powder and salt. Leave for 10 minutes.
2. Heat a bit of oil in wok. Add in the prawns. Fry till it changes color to red.
3. Add in the onion and fresh red chillie. Mix well and remove from fire.


I've tried making this dish a few weeks back. Thanks to Kak Liza again for the recipe...


TELUR BUNGKUS

Ingredients :

5 eggs

For the filling :
100 g minced chicken or minced beef
1 garlic ~ sliced
1 onion ~ sliced
1 tomato ~ diced
1 tablespoon green peas
3 tablespoons chillie sauce
2 tablespoons tomato sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
salt to taste
spring onions
cooking oil

Method :

1. Beat the eggs and fry like a pancake. Set aside.
2. Heat oil and saute garlic till golden brown.
3. Add in the minced chicken or minced beef. Stir.
4. When the meat is cooked, add in the chillie sauce, tomato sauce, oyster sauce, salt and onion.
5. Just before removing from heat, add in the tomato and green peas.
6. Pour the filling onto the egg pancake and sprinkle some spring onions on top.
7. Wrap the filling and ready to serve.
