MEE GORENG MAMAK, CHINESE STYLE (Phalinn Ooi)

Mee goreng Mamak, Chinese Style (Phalinn Ooi)
Had a wonderful evening yesterday at Dolly's house, baking, experimenting and learning as well! Went there to show Dolly how I normally go around preparing my bread doughs and we made sausage rolls out of Kak Liza's Sweet Bun recipe. Then we did an experiment on one biscuit and finally, Shireen was there as well to show me how to do Dokri. It's somewhat like apam but it has a sourish taste. I love to eat Dokri especially made by Shireen. Thanks a lot Shireen for the demo. And yesterday night, I received a text on my phone from Dolly saying that the sausage rolls were all gone, polished! Wow...that's the best way to end my day! And today, Dolly's going to make about 100 sausage rolls for a wedding and she's going to use this recipe. Sorry Dolls, can't help you this time as I have a whole house to mop! Pepani.....

Anyway, for today's recipe, I'd like to share with you the recipe that I've tested sometimes back. Got it from Dr-to-be Phalinn Ooi's page. It's a very simple to prepare dish but tasty. Thank you Phalinn for sharing with us your easy-to-prepare recipe. So ladies and gentleman, presenting to you......



MEE GORENG MAMAK, CHINESE STYLE (Phalinn Ooi)

Ingredients :

Fresh noodles
Onion
Garlic
Ginger
Fresh chillie
Chicken fillet ~ sliced thinly
Beef fillet ~ sliced thinly
Lime
Mixed vegetables (I put in some chinese cabbage and sliced carrots)
Egg
Chillie powder
Dark soy sauce
Oyster sauce
Pepper

Method :
1. Blanch the fresh noodles. If you are using spagetti, boil the spagetti with a bit of tumeric powder to give it a yellowish color. Drained the water and set aside.
2. Pound onion, garlic, ginger and fresh chillie.
3. Heat a bit of oil in a wok and fry the fillets.
4. Add in the pounded ingredients and stir well till fragrant.
5. Add in some chillie powder, egg, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce and finally the vegetables.
6. Add in noodles and mix till well combined.
7. Serve in a plate, squeeze some lime juice and garnish with chillie and cripy fried onion.
