MEE KARI YANGMAZNI
I don't think I'll ever do something like what I did yesterday night! Made sausage rolls and buns with currypuff's filling using Kak Liza's sweet bun recipe and then decided to experiment Zack's Burger Buns. And while waiting for those doughs to rise, I made the curry puff filling. Since the doughs took a little longer to rise, maybe because it's a bit chilly at night, I actually dozed off on the couch while watching TV with hubby. Kids were busy on the computers. Didn't put any alarm as I don't plan to sleep. Alhamdulillah woke up just at the right time! Hahaha...otherwise, I don't know what will happen to the doughs! On the oven and while waiting for it to heat up, I was actually about to doze off again while standing infront of the oven if not for Syahmi! He asked me,"Ma, why are you sleeping while standing?" Hahahaha....mama is full of talent huh...Who else can sleep while standing, put up their hands?



The buns were ready by 15 minutes past midnight. And Fatin, my regular bread customer, really ate. And that makes all the effort worth while! If my friends hear about what I had done, I'm sure...

Anyway, this morning, unplanned actually, I made another experiment for breakfast. I've been wanting to try this recipe, the first time I laid eyes on it but then, just too lazy to make the main ingredients (fresh noodles). It's Mee Kari from Yang Mazni's fotopages. Maz, thanks so much for the delicious recipe. It's not only delicious, but so simple and fast to prepare. What's more, it doesn't require too much ingredients. I took less than half an hour to prepare this....Care to give it a try, here's the recipe.....




MEE KARI YANGMAZNI

Ingredients :

5 shallots
2 to 3 garlic
1 inch ginger
chillie paste (optional. If you prefer the mee to be hot, then add some)
>>Blend all the above ingredients

3 tablespoons curry powder ~ made into paste
1 tin coconut milk
chicken fillets/prawns/squids/fish cakes or whatever you wish
(I used prawns and chicken balls)
salt
sugar (optional)
zeal (optional)
fresh noodles (if it's not available, you can just boil the spagetti with a bit of tumeric to give it a yellowish color)
vegetables of your choice (for example, bean sprout and chinese cabbage) ~ blanch for a little while
For garnishing : fresh red chillie, chopped spring onions and fried onion

Method :

1. Heat oil and add in the blended ingredients. Fry till fragrant.
2. Add in the curry paste and continue frying.
3. Pour in the coconut milk and let it boil.
4. Add in the chicken fillets/prawns/squids/fish cakes or whatever you wish.
5. Let the gravy boil on slow fire. Add in salt, sugar and zeal.
6. To serve : Place the fresh noodles in the serving bowl. Arrange the blanched vegetables, then pour the gravy on top.
(I added half a boiled egg) Sprinkle with spring onions, fried onions and sliced red chillie
