SWEET BUN (KAK LIZA)

The texture

Sausage Rolls
As promised, this entry will be a recipe entry. When I first set eyes on this recipe, I feel like trying it straight away. But when thinking of the pile of clothes to wash and iron and house to clean, I left it till a few days ago. Oh actually, I saw the recipe when I just got back from the holiday. This recipe is from Kak Liza's fotopage. And since the kids wanted to eat sausage rolls after quite sometime, so I made this recipe into sausage rolls. This was made possible because on our way home from the recent tour, we stopped by Lilongwe to get the sausages, something like the ones sold at Ayamas or Ramly's. The halaal sausages found at our place is not so "nice" to be made into sausage rolls. The bread was nice and soft and easy to prepare as well. Thank you very much Kak Liza for the nice recipe. The kids enjoyed it very much and gave a rating of 5/5!!!

SWEET BUN

Ingredient A :

500g high protein flour
25g milk powder
75g sugar
(I lessen it to just 50g since I want to make sausage rolls)
10g instant yeast
1 teaspoon bread softener
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt

Ingredient B :

250ml water
75g margarine

Ingredient C :

Red bean filling
Butter
Sugar
Sausage
Raisins/sultanas

Method :

1. Mix well ingredients A.
2. Add in water and knead till a soft dough is formed.
(I called upon my antique but still reliable mixer to help me with this process!)
3. Add in margarine and knead again till soft and elastic.
4. Divide the dough into 50g balls.
5. Shape the dough to your liking.
6. Leave to prove till double the size.
7. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degree celcius till golden brown.
8. Once out of the oven, brush some margarine on top.

ida_natrah>>Ini sudah bagusss...tak yah pasang promoter, dah ada customer...Alahai shian diorang nak roti eh...ida buatkan la, senang je resipi Kak Liza ni, cubalah ye....
Harni Safarina>> Bertanya tu bagus, jadi tak sesat jalan...cuma yang tak pastinya, kalau yang ditanya tu tahu jawab ke dak...wakakakaka....anyway, tepung high protein tu sebenarnya tepung roti. Mama kat sini gunakan tepung kek aje sebab selalu beli tu je. Kalau kat Malaysia, guna je tepung gandum ok kot...Gluten flour tu apa eh? Hihihi...Mama pun dah tak de stok bread softener, so I just skip that....insyaAllah okay gak....
rizza-umiHassan >> Relax...jangan panik!
Pepandai kita lah menggodam resipi..hehehe...
rizza-umiHassan>> Good luck!
Dulu mama buat roti pun tak guna dough softener or bread improver, insyaAllah roti lembut aje, provided you uli lama dan sampai lembut dan licin. Wallahu'alam.
Stacy sang@wustl.edu>> The bun in picture 11 is with the currypuff filling.
