NORTH MALAWI TOUR : BLANTYRE ~ LILONGWE

The holiday that we just came back from actually wasn't planned to be THAT SOON. Hubby had told me that we are going to tour the northern part of Malawi, but after the FIFA. But then, the Malawi government had annouced on the radio that there'll be 3 days holiday starting on the 5th July to celebrate Malawi's Independence Day on the 6th. July, 2006. The kids had to go to school on the 5th. July (Wednesday) because there'll be a final and prize giving assembly at Syahmi's school. And Syahmi received an award for "Excellent Effort" in Year 5 for year 2005-2006. I am so proud of him. And guess what...Khuto house won the 'Housepoints trophy'! Yipee!!!!

Hubby got to know about the 3 days holiday on Tuesday and he went to book for the holiday package. At 2.30 pm he phoned me to say that we'll be leaving for north after the kids come back from school on Wednesday! Gosh! I didn't prepare anything! And I am very bad at working in such a short notice situation. For sometime, I was quite blur, not knowing what to do! But then, managed to get everything ready on time.

We started our journey on Wednesday at 2.00pm. First to Lilongwei which is about 4 hours drive. Had to stop in Lilongwei as we dare not drive in the dark because we are not familiar with the road from Lilongwe onwards. Stayed overnight at Dato' Mazlan and Datin Khadijah's house. We had a wonderful dinner of nasi lemak and pizza. Then after that, boiled tapioca with grated coconut mixed with sugar and lemon tea, while watching the football match.....Thank you to both of you for the warm hospitality...

These photos will be from Blantyre to Lilongwe. It'll take me a few entries to finish our holiday series because I took quite a bit of photos. Sometimes I wish that I can just connect my eyes to the net so that I'll do more justice to Malawi. The sceneries are just too wonderful to be described with words especially coming from me who is bad at expressing things...Most of these photos were taken in a moving car, so some might have the reflection because I snapped it through a closed window. Anyway, hope you will enjoy the photos as much as I did when photographing them...By the way, our journey by road was 2,500km in total.....
