This morning for breakfast, we had Fried Macaroni and also Pulut Panggang (recipe to come soon).


And in the evening, when browsing the net, I printed out quite a lot of new recipes. Then into the kitchen to try two new recipes. A cupcake recipe and a cookie recipe. As for today, I'll post the cookie recipe first. This recipe was actually emailed to Kak Liza by a good samaritan aka 'ahli tingkap' like me, to be shared among the forumers in Forum Cari. According to her, she found the recipe in Majalah Saji. But she just gave the recipe without the step by step photo. And since the cookie looks so cute and lovely, I took the challenge to try and do it. And after looking at the cookie photo, I figured out myself how to go about doing it.

I guess I am doing the right thing because when I'm done shaping the cookies, I asked both my kids, what do they see in the tray? And both answered...flowers...so...MISSION ACCOMPLISHED....



ROSE TART
(Makes 40)

Ingredients :

3/4 cup icing sugar
1 cup margarine
1 cup maziena (corn flour)
1 egg yolk
enough flour
(I used 1 3/4 cups flour)
Jam for filling
Paper cups

Method :

1. Beat icing sugar and margarine till light and creamy.
2. Add in egg yolk and continue beating.
3. Add corn flour and mix well.
4. Add in flour, a bit at a time till a soft dough is formed.
5. Roll about 3/4 cm
(I rolled about 1/2 cm thick) thick and cut using a round cutter.
6. Spread a bit of jam on top and fold into 2.
7. With two folded pieces, join them together to form a flower shape.
8. Put in small papercups and bake till golden brown.

This cookie maybe a bit time consuming but worth all the effort. The taste is nice and more like melt-in-the-mouth cookie. So for those who have the patience and passion...go for it!!!
