Kuetiau goreng for hubby
Finally, today, I have the guts to try baking a cheesecake, for the very first time in my life! I'm quite worried if the cake didn't turn out nice, because the Philadelphia Cream Cheese is expensive here. If we convert the price to Malaysian Ringgit, it'll come to RM20 per 250g block. But I got my cream cheese from South Africa. Alia bought for me 2 blocks at 24 rand each. According to http://www.x-rates.com/calculator.html , it'll be RM14.75 per block. I want my first trial to be successful so that there'll be more cheesecakes to come from me...For this time, I tried making Chocolate Cheesecake Hanieliza. Thank you Kak Liza...muaahhsss!

HANIELIZA CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE

Base (can be replaced with a thin sponge vanilla cake)
200g cheese cracker biscuit (blended)
3 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons honey

Cheese filling
250g Philadelphia cream cheese
60g butter
100g brown sugar
3 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
3 tablespoons fresh cream or whipping cream
1 tablespoon flour }
2 tablespoon cocoa powder } sifted

3 egg whites ~ beaten stiff

Method :

1. Mix well all the base ingredients and press onto the greased springfoam tin.
2. Bake in the oven at 170 c for 10 minutes.
3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, butter and sugar. Beat till well combined.
4. Add in egg yolks one at a time.
5. Add in vanilla essence.
6. Add in fresh cream or whipping cream and mix well.
7. Add in sifted ingredients alternately with the stiff egg white. Mix well.
8. Pour onto the baked base and bake at 150 C for 60 minutes.
9. Leave to cool in the oven.

Note :
Since I don't have any cheese cracker biscuit, I used Melky Blueberry Biscuit.

This evening, I fried 3 kinds of noodles! Firstly, I fried some rice noodles to give to Alia. Then I thought of making Kue Tiau Goreng (Fried Kue tiau) for dinner. But my daughter saw the soaked kue tiau and wanted me to fry for her the soya sauce (kicap) version. I don't have any particular recipe for this one, I just chuck in whatever that came across my mind! Well, she said it was nice and finished the whole lot all by herself. And for my son, he wanted burger. Oh boy...they just turned my kitchen into a mini stall (warung) or what !!!

tiara tiara_88@msn.com>> Thanks Tiara for the information. Now that I am back in Malaysia, I can easily get these Philadelphia Cream Cheese at a reasonable price and I know the existance of BWY in Puchong. The price of the cheese mentioned above was Malawi, Africa's price. I baked this cheesecake when we were still in Africa.
