DAGING MASAK LEMAK CILI PADI

 


I received the above lovely photo from Sis Serene Masrene via email. It's indeed a one in a million shot... a smile from Heaven. Thank you for making me smile. I have reasons to smile....

Firstly, I wish to thank all my fellow visitors and friends for all the soothing and comforting words that you've left on my comment column. I felt much stronger knowing that there are many of you who supports me and I trully appreciate it very much. I now feel that I have better reasons to keep going. Thank you from the bottom of my heart....

Secondly, I've updated the long overdued entry in my blog. Thank you ladies for all the lovely awards passed on to me. Appreciate it very much!

Thirdly, whatever I cooked for dinner were all gone! There's no leftovers! I am so happy!!! What did mama cook today? Well, here's the menu.............





But yesterday, after quite sometime, I experimented a bread recipe but it didn't turn out well. I guess, it's not the fault of the recipe but maybe it's me. Lack of commitment. I was in a hurry to go to the hospital to visit a friend who had an operation the day before. I wish her a speedy recovery....awak.... GET ENOUGH REST OKAY.... bukan senang nak dapat rehat macam ni tau! Hehee... kan 'mak tiri' dah berleter dah ni....

Anyway, just to prove to you my failure... here's the result of my experiment.... hahaha... laugh as you wish... Laughter is the best medicine!! Hahahahahahahaha.....





Recipe to share today is Daging Masak Lemak Cili Api (Negri Sembilan Style) or the translation would be Beef in Hot Spicy Coconut Milk...ntah betul tidaklah mama ni main taram je! Muahahhaha.... I came across this recipe from Mesra dot Net. Thanks to Shy who had posted her mom's lovely recipe.




DAGING MASAK LEMAK CILI API (NEGRI SEMBILAN STYLE)

Ingredients :

½ kg topside beef ~ sliced thinly
2 lemon grass ~ bruised
20 pcs bird eye chillie
3 potatoes (I omit these as I don't have it at home)
½ inch fresh turmeric

1 or 2 cups thick coconut milk
1 cup thin coconut milk
1 piece turmeric leaf
salt to taste
½ cup water

Method :

1. Pound the bird eye chillie and fresh turmeric until a paste is formed.
2. Add the paste, lemon grass, beef and a bit of water in a pot. Cook till the beef is tender.
3. Add in thin coconut milk and water. Add in potatoes and turmeric leaf.
4. Let it simmer until the potatoes are soft. Pour in the thick coconut milk and salt to taste.
5. Once cooked, remove from heat.

Bahan-Bahan :

½ kg daging batang pinang
2 batang serai
20 biji cili padi
3 biji ubi kentang
½ inci kunyit hidup

2 atau 1 cawan santan pekat
1 cawan santan cair
1 helai daun kunyit
sedikit garam
½ cawan air

Cara :

1. Blend cili api,kunyit hidup sehingga halus.
2. Kemudian masukkan bahan yang telah di blend, serai yg telah dititik(ditumbuk sedikit)kedalam periuk. Masukkan daging dan tambah sedikit air. Masak sehingga daging empuk.
3. Jika daging telah empuk masukkan santan cair dan air tadi. Kemudian mskkan ubi kentang dan daun kunyit.
4. Apabila ubi kentang telah empuk, mskkan santan pekat dan garam.Tutup api.

Cadangan Hidangan :

Jika hendak pedas dan lebih kick, tambah lebih cili api.
Ini adalah resepi original negeri sembilan. Kalau tak nk guna ubi kentang boleh guna belimbing buluh.
Boleh juga kalau nk guna dg salai, tetapi kena letak belimbing buluh baru power.
