Such a busy day today! I went out with Kak Ana around 11 am. Drove to Giant USJ. Driving in a newly serviced car is such a lovely feeling! The car just glide with ease which makes me forget the speed limit! But worry not...if you see an old lady driving slow and steady, that'll be MamaFaMi! Muahahaha....

First stop was the post office at Giant to mail a bedsheet and comforter set bought by Nor. Thanks Nor and sorry for the delay ya...Hope you'll like it. I didn't take long in the post office. Then into Giant Hypermarket to get the things we needed...and maybe not really needed....ahakss...hey, we're just human beings okay.... Then off we went to Best Baking Solution in USJ 8 to get my boxes. I only bought boxes and a few containers and just those two things costed me RM16.00!!! Gosh! If only money does grow on trees, I tell you, I will look after that tree with the greatest care on earth! Muahahaha....dream on mama!

From there we headed to the clinic to get my monthly medication supply. This time round, Kak Ana had to drive the car as we want to save time looking for parking. We reached there around 2.15 pm and the clinic was closed for lunch. We just went round and round and finally stopped infront of this organic chicken outlet. I went down to 'just have a peek'. And that 'peek' caused me a good RM11.00!! Huhuhuhu.... I just bought a tray of mutton and a packet of egg noodles. From there, we went straight home in order to avoid more leakages from our purse! Hahaha.....

For dinner, I prepared mutton curry for hubby. I had the urge to cook something that I saw in one of the pages (fasting really makes you crave for almost everything huh!) but cancelled it last minute as I don't want to waste the leftovers of yesterday's Sambal Sotong. So I settled for that, alhamdulillah.....



For today's recipe, I will paste a slightly altered recipe of Batik Swiss Roll. I will also paste the step by step photo of how I've prepared the cake as requested by Zaiy. Hope this answers your question ya Zaiy....



CHOCOLATE BATIK SWISS ROLL

Ingredients
:

(A)

3 nos eggs
2 oz castor sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
1/2 tablespoon ovallette
1.5 oz flour, remove 1.5 tablepoon
1/2 tablespoon milk powder

(B)

2 oz butter ~ melted

(C)

1.5 tablespoon cocoa powder

(D)

Buttercream icing

Method :

1. Place ingredients A in a mixing bowl. Beat on high speed for 5 to 7 minutes.
2. Set aside 1.5 tablespoons of the batter and put into a piping bag.
3. Add cocoa powder to the batter in the mixer (larger amount) and beat for another 1 or 2 minutes.
4. Spread the cocoa batter onto the tray layered with greaseproof paper.
5. Pipe lines using the white batter onto the cocoa batter.
6. Using a cake skewer, make lines across the white batter to create batik effect.
7. Bake in a preheated oven at 170 C for 20 minutes.
8. Once baked, remove the cake from the tray onto a wire rack. Let it cool.
9. Turn the cake onto another piece of paper and spread the buttercream.
10. Slowly and carefully, roll the cake. Wrap in a clingfilm and keep in the refrigerator for the buttercream to set before slicing it.

SWISS ROLL BATIK COKLAT
(loyang 8 x 11 inci)

Bahan-bahan :

3 biji telur gred A @ B
2 oz gula castor
1/2 sudu teh baking powder
1/2 sudu teh esen vanilla
1/2 sudu besar ovallete
1.5 oz tepung gandum, keluarkan 1 1/2 sudu besar tepung
1/2 sudu besar susu tepung
2 oz mentega cair
1 1/2 sudu besar serbuk koko
butter icing secukupnya

Kaedah penyediaan :

- Telur, gula, ovallete, baking powder, esen vanilla, tepung gandum dan susu tepung dipukul dengan kelajuan maksima sehingga gebu (5-7minit)
- Asingkan 1 1/2 sudu besar adunan putih dan masukkan ke dalam piping bag.
- Masukkan serbuk koko ke dalam adunan putih di dalam mixer dan pukul selama 1 hingga 2 minit agar serbuk koko sebati.
- Masukkan mentega cair, kemudian kaup balikkan biar rata.
- Tuangkan adunan koko tadi ke dalam loyang kemudian ratakan permukaannya.
- Paipkan adunan putih tadi di atas adunan yg diratakan dlm loyang
- Lorekkan/corakkan dgn menggunakan lidi
- Bakar dalam ketuhar yang telah dipanaskan terlebih dahulu pada suhu 170 C selama 20 minit, api atas dan bawah.
- Apabila kek sudah masak, keluarkan dari oven ke atas redai. Biarkan sejuk. Letakkan sekeping kertas di atas bahagian yang berlorek kemudian terbalikkan.
- Keluarkan kertas alas semasa membakar. Sapu permukaan dengan butter icing.
- Gulung kek tadi perlahan-lahan dan cermat.
- Balutkan dengan cling film dan simpankan di dalam peti ais untuk mengentalkan buttercream.
- Potong dan hidangkan.
