TOFU SOUP

 
 
 
Mama had not been behaving lately! Sleeping late! Well, don't put all the blame on me! At least put 20% on hubby as well! Hehehehe.... He's the one who refused to re-block the internet line. I had asked him to unblock it just for one day as I really need to be online that one particular day. After that when I asked him to limit the online time, he said, just leave it. As a result, mama got carried away! One advantage, I don't have anybody to scream at me if I sleep late! Hahahaha....

Yesterday night, I slept at 1am. Didn't have enough sleep as I have to wake up at 6am for Fajr prayers. And around 3am, I can hear, twice, Syahmi's voice saying....
"mama darling, you got a message....mama darling, you got a message" ...yup...that's how my phone will sound like whenever I have a message coming in. It was from Dolly in Malawi....

After Fajr prayers, hubby left for work and since I can barely open my eyes, I continued sleeping! Thought of waking up by 8 but slept soundly till past 9! Huhuhu...pemalas betul kan mama ni! Sib baik dah kahwin, kalau tak, jatuh saham belepuk lepuk! Muahahahaha.... Actually I hate waking up late as it'll make me so energyless (is there any such word? I wonder?!!!) and tired! But managed to clean the house and wash the clothes. And not only that, I finally tried making these roses out of the readymade fondant I got from the bakery. Not bad huh.... Have to keep on trying till I get a really good rose ...entah tahun bilalah tu agaknya!....



For dinner, I prepared these two dishes and hubby enjoyed them with petai and I enjoyed it with salad and Thousand Island sauce. Imagine my plate, it's like east meets west in mama's tummy.... a plate of rice with cuttlefish sambal, fish in soya sauce, salad + thousand island!



The following recipe doesn't have anything to do with today's dinner (aka my breaking fast) menu. I tried this recipe after eating at the Kelana Jaya restaurant with Intan and Kak Ana. But it's my very own recipe, so please try at your own risk....tapi garenti tak mabuk punya ok....ahaks.....



TOFU SOUP

Ingredients
:

1 tubes of silken japanese tofu ~ sliced thickly
2 cloves garlic ~ minced
1 fresh chillie ~ sliced
1 teaspoon chicken stock powder
enough water
Carrots
Fish balls
1 egg
1 teaspoon sweet soya sauce
Chinese cabbage
Chinese mustard
a few tbsp of cornstarch solution
Salt to taste
cooking oil

Method :

1. Fry the thickly sliced tofu till golden brown. Set aside.
2. Heat oil in a pot. Add in the garlic. Fry till fragrant.
3. Add in chillie and chicken stock powder. Stir.
4. Add in water and carrots and fish balls.
5. Once boiling, add in egg and stir well.
6. Add in soya sauce for color.
7. Add in the chinese cabbage and the Chinese mustard.
8. Adjust consistency by thickening gravy with the cornstarch solution.
9. Add salt if necessary.
10. Finally add in the fried tofu. Ready to serve.

Bahan-bahan
:

1 peket tofu Jepun ~ di potong
2 biji bawang putih ~ dicincang
1 cili merah ~ dihiris
1 sudu kecil serbuk stok ayam (Mama gunakan Tumix)
air secukupnya
Lobak merah ~ dihiris
Bebola ikan
1 biji telur
1 sudu kecil kicap manis
Kobis Cina
Sayur sawi
3 sudu besar bancuhan tepung jagung dan air
Garam secukup rasa
Minyak untuk menumis

Kaedah penyediaan :

1. Goreng tofu sehingga keperangan. Toskan minyak dan masukkan ke dalam mangkuk hidang. Petua yang mama amalkan untuk mengelakkan apa yang digoreng dari melekat di kuali ialah bila minyak dalam kuali telah panas, masukkan sedikit garam. Kemudian gorenglah macam biasa. InsyaAllah tofu atau ikan atau apa sahaja tidak akan melekat
2. Panaskan minyak di dalam periuk dan masukkan bawang putih. Tumis hingga wangi.
3. Masukkan cili merah dan serbuk stok ayam. Kacau.
4. Masukkan air, lobak merah dan bebola ikan. Biar mendidih.
5. Bila telah mendidih, masukkan telur dan kacau.
6. Masukkan sedikit kicap manis, untuk warna.
7. Masukkan kobis Cina dan juga sayur sawi.
8. Tuangkan bancuhan tepung jagung untuk memekatkan sedikit kuah.
9. Masukkan garam jika perlu.
10. Tuangkan kuah ke atas tofu dan sedia dihidangkan.
