FISH SOUP

Apologies......wasn't around last weekend and the internet connection at home was down due to a faulty modem adaptor.

Actually last Saturday evening, Kak Alia had said that she wanted to come and visit me but had to cancel due to some personal reason. So, unplanned, hubby said, let's go back to Malacca and visit our parents and relatives. We planned to have our breakfast outside and straight to Malacca but Kak Ana gave us Nasi Dagang. Change of plan, we had our breakfast at home and then only we started our journey. Stopped by at a Shell station to fill up fuel at around 9.30 am. While hubby filled up the tank, he asked me to draw some money from the ATM Machine. There were only the staffs in the shoppe and as I entered, I heard a loud and cheerful voices greeting me SELAMAT PAGI!!! I was so surprised and turned towards the cheeful faces at the counter and wish them the same! Wow, that really made my day! Well done to the Shell Station staffs of Lia Endon Enterprise at USJ 25! If you were in my place, how would you feel.....surprise will be one of my answer and not to mention happy!

We went straight to hubby's kampung and were there till around 4pm...dapat makan banyak durian ooo sebab tahun ni, pokok durian kat belakang rumah banyak pulak buahnya, mungkin pasal dia tahu, MamaFaMi is around....muahahaha....Buah rambutan tak usik langsung, eksen ma ek... hahaha...Then headed to my parents house. Mom was not well. Both mak and abah were surprised when they saw us! I didn't inform anybody that we're going back to Malacca. That night we had our dinner at Pak Aziz's Ikan Bakar at Serkam Pantai. Since mak and abah didn't come along, we just ordered sweet sour prawns to bring home. We had Siakap bakar, Sotong goreng tepung, kerang rebus and udang bakar. It may sound a lot for just the two of us, but actually all were in such small quantity....

Recipe to share today is a simple fish soup.... I bet everyone knows how to do it. This is how I prepared mine....



FISH SOUP

Ingredients
:

2 slices of fish
Fish spice
Ginger ~ minced
Shallots ~ minced
Garlic ~ minced
Salt to taste
Enough water
Fresh red chillie
Tomato ~ halved
Cooking oil

Method :

1. Clean and rinse fish and set aside
2. Heat oil in a pot.
3. Add in the ginger, onion, garlic and the loose spices in the Fish Spice packet. Fry till fragrant.
4. Add in water and Fish spice bunjut. Let it boil.
5. Add in fish, fresh red chillie, tomato and salt. Leave to simmer till fish is cooked.

Bahan-bahan
:

2 keping ikan merah
Sup Ikan (bunjut)
Halia ~ ditumbuk
Bawang merah ~ ditumbuk
Bawang putih ~ ditumbuk
Garam secukup rasa
Air secukupnya
Cili merah ~ dibelah tapi jangan sampai putus
Buah tomato ~ dibelah dua
Minyak masak untuk menumis

Kaedah penyediaan :

1. Basuh dan toskan ikan. Ketepikan.
2. Panaskan minyak di dalam periuk.
3. Masukkan bahan tumbuk dan rempah ratus di dalam peket sup bunjut. Tumis hingga wangi.
4. Tuangkan air dan masukkan bunjut. Biarkan mendidih.
5. Masukkan ikan, cili merah, tomato dan garam. Renihkan hingga ikan masak. Sedia untuk dihidangkan.
