PLAIN SPONGE CAKE (Intan)

 
 
Meant to update my page yesterday night but when I checked my blood pressure, the reading was low. I checked 4 times and the reading was something like this :

Upper reading : Ranging from 107 to 116
Lower reading : Ranging from 61 to 71

Got scared and went to sleep. Early! Anyway, alhamdulillah the reading was quite okay this morning....but still I have to watch out...

Finally I can breathe a big sigh of relief, at least for the month of April. Birthdays after birthdays! And mama was just enjoying herself baking and icing the cakes and cuppies....To summarise, these were the cakes I've made for my family.....

On the 4th April...for Pak Chu....


On the 15th. April.....for Ahmad Firdaus's 7th birthday....



On the 21st April....oopsss.....sorry Pak Ngah, no cakes for you as mama was so busy that time....

And finally yesterday, 29th April, for Alya Farhani's 8th birthday....


Recipe to share today will be the sponge cake I made for Alya's cake yesterday. I have to thank Intan for sharing her sister-in-law's recipe with all of us. Muahhhss to Intan... Sorry Intan, mama made a bit of adjustments, to make this cake into Strawberry Sponge Cake.



PLAIN SPONGE CAKE
Source : Intan

Ingredients :

250g eggs (without the shells)
120g castor sugar
125g self-raising flour
50ml water
13g emulsifier / sponge cake stabiliser / ovallette
60g melted butter (cooled)
1 teaspoon vanilla essence (omitted)

1 teaspoon strawberry essence
a few drops of pink food coloring


Method :

1. In a bowl, place the eggs, castor sugar, self-raising flour and ovallette. Beat on high speed.
2. Add in water and essence
plus the coloring.
3. Continue beating till light and fluffy.
4. Finally, fold in the melted butter.
5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 C for 40 minutes.

Bahan-bahan :

250g telur (ditimbang tanpa kulit)
120g gula kaster
125g tepung naik sendiri

60g mentega dicairkan
1 sudu kecil esen vanilla (mama tidak menggunakan esen vanilla)

1 sudu kecil esen strawberi
beberapa titis pewarna merah jambu


Kaedah penyediaan :

1. Masukkan telur, gula kaster, tepung naik sendiri dan ovaIette ke dalam mangkuk mixer. Pukul dengan kelajuan tinggi.
2. Masukkan air dan esen
berserta pewarna.
3. Terus memukul sehingga kembang dan ringan.
4. Tuangkan mentega cair dan kaupbalikkan bancuhan.
5. Bakar di dalam ketuhar yang telah dipanaskan terlebih dahulu pada 180 C selama 40 minit.
