SWEET BUN (Mat Gebu)

 
 
I know I have been neglecting my Fotopages and also my Blogspot but I certainly have good reasons for that. Ahaks...mama is always full of excuses...as if all of you don't know! Hahaha....Mestilah kan...nak cover line, kenalah pandai...wakakaka... Reasons aka excuses are as follows :

1. I can't stay up late. I have bedtime nowadays. Thanks to my bp. I normally update my page later at night as I find it peaceful to write my 'don't-know-what mak nenek's stories'
2. I can't be infront of the laptop for a long time as I tend to get headaches easily nowadays.
3. I am busy re-organizing the cupboards in the house to make more space so that I can dump more of my junks into the cupboards!
4. Busy baking.
5. Busy ironing.
6. Reading my new story book.
7. Err...mmm...hey...why on earth am I cracking my head to think of all the excuses in the first place eh...nobody had asked me why I didn't update as often as before, so why must I worry....hahaha......



MAMA IS LONG-SIGHTED? Oh noooo!!!!!! I smsed Mak Chu just now to tell her that I have to use dearest hubby's reading glasses to read, reply smses and do cross stitching. Mak Chu just laughed and said (indirectly) that I am an old lady already! Hahaha...That's what I get for always boasting, I am the only one in the family who doesn't have to put on glasses!!! See....ALLAH is paying me cash!!! Serves me right!! But when it comes to reading from the distance, I can do so, glass-less (is there any such word!) without much trouble. Let's just say that I am like The Six Million Dollar Woman....err...make it A Million Dollar Woman, after taking into consideration, the age factor, the looks factor and the other factors yang sewaktu dengannya...ala...kira macam lepas diskaunlah tuuu.....hehehehe....Lor amende ler yang mama merepek nih!

We went to visit our darling kids today though it's not our visiting week. We were just staying at home doing nothing much, so hubby had asked if I wanted to go and visit the kids. Of course, I don't have to tell you what my answer will definately be right! Since it's an adhoc programme, I didn't manage to prepare anything for them. We bought food from McDonalds and had our breakfast with the kids in the school compound. Then for lunch, we brought them out to eat. Had a nice chat and pleasant time with both of them. When it was time to go, mama was such a strong mama today as she doesn't shed a tear....but that doesn't mean she wasn't sad. Only ALLAH knows how she actually felt!

Ok ok...let's move on to the recipe to share today. It's a bread recipe that I came across at Mr Mat Gebu's Blogspot. Tried it a long time ago, a few days after I left a comment on his page, but only now I am going to upload it at my page in order to share with many more out there. Thank you Mat for the lovely recipe......



SWEET BUN

Ingredients :

400 g bread flour (high-protein flour)
100 g cake flour
100 g sugar
5 g salt
20 g milk powder
1/4 teaspoon bread improver
1 egg (grade B) ~ lightly beaten
11 g instant dried yeast
40 g shortening
250 g water (lukewarm)
Filling of your choice

Method :

1. Sift bread flour, cake flour, salt, milk powder and bread improver into a mixing bowl. Add in yeast, sugar and eggs. On the mixer.
2. Pour in lukewarm water a little at a time until just mixed.
3. Add in the shortening and continue kneading till a soft and smooth dough is formed. Add more water if needed.
4. Make into one round ball and leave to prove till double the size.
5. Punch down the dough to release air and make into small balls. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
6. Flatten the dough and place the filling in the middle. Cover the filling with dough.
7. Arrange on a lightly floured baking tray. Leave to prove till double the size.
8. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 C for 20 - 30 minutes.
9. Once out of the oven, brush the buns with margarine.

Bahan-Bahannya :

400 g tepung roti (high-protein flour)
100 g tepung kek (mat guna tepung Hong Kong)
100 g gula halus
5 g garam halus
20 g susu tepung
1/4 camca teh bread improver
1 biji telur gred B, dipukul sedikit
11 g yis segera
40 g shortening (lemak sayur)
250 g air
Inti kegemaran secukupnya

Cara membuatnya :

Satukan semua bahan diatas kecuali inti dan lemak sayur. Gaul rata hingga menjadi doh. Tambah lemak sayur dan terus menguli hingga adunan menjadi lembut, anjal dan elastik, kalau guna mesin uli 10 - 15 minit dan 20 minit kalau gunakan tangan. Alih ke dalam bekas yang besar, tutup permukaan bekasnya dengan plastic cling, dan biar doh naik 2 x ganda, kurang lebih 45 minit.

KAEDAH LAIN :- Masukkan semua bahan2 diatas kecuali inti ke dalam breadmaker, pilih setting untuk doh, tekan "on" dan biar hingga siap.
Keluarkan doh, tumbuk untuk buang udara dan uli sekejap. Timbang 60 g untuk setiap bahagian (menghasilkan lebih kurang 12). Isi inti kegemaran pada setiap bahagian, bulat2kan dan susun dalam loyang yang telah disapu mentega. Buat hingga siap dan rehatkan hingga naik kurang lebih 30 - 45 minit.
Sapu permukaan roti dengan bancuhan telur dan susu dan bakar dalam oven yang telah dipanaskan pada suhu 200C selama 20 minit atau mengikut keadaan oven masing2.
Mat tak sapu telur, cuma lepas masak, mat sapu permukaan roti dengan mentega dan mat bakar roti pada suhu 180C selama 20 minit...
