Actually, the above photo wasn't meant to be there in the first place. I thought of writing something else but at that time, the mind was so blank that I don't really know what to write. And I lost count, how many times I kept on typing and erasing that very first line! Finally I just left it, browse through my folder and found that piece of photo. While editing, it sort of cleared a path in my brain that makes this writing possible. But if you have headache or anything like that while reading my 'essay', do take some aspirins or if condition worsen, do seek a professional doctor for advice! Hahahaha.... there goes mama with a blank mind!

We've been quite busy today, half of the day, hubby and me were out. The kids prefer to stay at home and infront of their pc and laptop with their newfound game. They had said that they wanted to enjoy the house to the fullest before going back to boarding tomorrow...oh oh....don't want to start now...let me just enjoy them while they are around....at least for tonight and tomorrow morning...can't bear the thought of tomorrow....

In the morning, I had this urge to try something new for breakfast besides the fried noodles. I was up till late the night before, copying as many recipes as my hands can scribble. Yes, I copied the recipes by hand! I find that, if it was handwritten, then the tendency for me to try out the recipe is greater. I guess because I don't really want to waste my energy copying the recipes. Perhaps you guys can try this at home! Trust me, it's not hazardous!



At 12 noon, me and hubby left the house to attend our ex-neighbour's daughter's wedding at Dewan Jubli Perak, Bangunan SUK Shah Alam. It was so lovely to meet the family after a long time. Though not much time to sit and chat, but to be able to see them again, is such a pleasure! Congratulations to the family as they've added another son into the family. And to both bride and bridegroom....

Well I think I'd better cut short all this yapping, and go straight to the recipe to share. Why? Because it's way past midnight and I need to sleep, before I doze off right infront of the laptop! Okay, let me just share with you the Apam Gula Hangus recipe. I copied the recipe from Alaf21 and surely it's Chef Norzailina's recipe. The taste of this kuih is just nice, not too sweet neither tasteless. Thank you Sis Norza for sharing this recipe with us and in case you guys didn't know yet, Sis Norza's new book will be out soon and this time, according to her blog, she's writing about the world of blogging! Must be very interesting. Hope to get a book with her autograph on it...and according to her, she'll put the url of her blogger friends in her book. I wonder, will my humble blog or fotopage be among the very long list of her friends?


APAM GULA HANGUS

Ingredients :

1 1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup milk powder
1/4 cup castor sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon soda bicarbonate
1/4 cup water

1/2 cup sugar >
1/2 cup water > to make into syrup

Method :

1. To prepare syrup : Place 1/2 cup sugar into a non-stick pot on medium heat. Let it melt. Once turned into golden brown, carefully add in the 1/2 cup water and stir till sugar dissolved. Please be extra careful when dealing with hot sugar.
2. Sift flour, milk powder and soda bicarbonate twice.
3. Beat egg and 1/4 cup sugar till creamy and light.
4. Add the syrup alternately with flour into the egg mixture.
5. Pour into the prepared small cups or a baking tin, greased with oil.
6. Steam for 20 - 25 minutes.
7. Nice to serve with freshly grated coconut.

Bahan-bahan :

1 1/4 cawan tepung gandum
1/4 cawan susu tepung
1/4 cawan gula kastor
1 biji telur
1 sudu teh soda bikarbonat
1/4 cawan air

1/2 cawan gula >
1/2 cawan air > untuk membuat gula perang

Kaedah penyediaan :

1. Untuk membuat gula perang : Masukkan gula ke dalam periuk tidak lekat dan masak di atas api sederhana hingga gula cair dan berwarna keemasan. Tuangkan 1/2 cawan air ke dalam gula tadi. Berhati-hati! Kacau hingga gula larut sepenuhnya.
2. Ayak tepung, susu tepung dan soda bikarbonat sebanyak 2 kali.
3. Pukul telur dan gula hingga kembang dan ringan.
4. Masukkan gula perang dan tepung berselang-seli, ke dalam bancuhan telur.
5. Tuangkan ke dalam acuan kecil-kecil atau ke dalam loyang yang telah dilengser dengan sedikit minyak.
6. Kukus selama 20 - 25 minit.
7. Enak dihidangkan bersama kelapa parut yang telah ditabur sedikit garam.
