Have you ever experienced this situation?
......Where you wanted to do something, let's call it A. In order to do A, you need to go to the cupboard to fetch, for example the sieve. When you opened the cupboard, you saw how messy it was and tried tidying them. And not even 5 minutes tidying the cupboard, you found a piece of your recipe sheet in there. Then you said to yourself, I must put it in the file before it gets lost. And when you went to find your file, you found something else and bla bla bla.....
The list shall go on....If you were to experience this, what will your action be? Have you ever thought about this before?

I think, I am 'suffering' from this at the moment and that contributes to my L.A.Z.Y syndrome. I wanted to bake, but then in my mind, I was thinking about the stack of clothes that needed to be ironed. When I wanted to iron, I then think of the boxes upstairs that needed to be unpacked and bla bla bla.....So what did I finally do?
1. Lie down and watch TV or listen to the radio
2. Glued to the internet
3. 'Read' my recipe books, magazines or printouts.
4. Sleep!
And all of those listed above, I catagorised them as
A WASTE OF TIME! tahu...tak pe...Tapi dah tahu..buat juga! And if you ask me for the 'antidote', I'd say it's your own willpower. You have to snap out of it and really stick to what you intend to do. Be harsh to yourself and don't give chances for that L.A.Z.Y bug to sting you! Omak ai, cakap yo yo o je, tapi sendiri punya daya tahan diri pun kucar kacir! Hehehe...tak pe...ini semua adalah untuk peringatan diri sendiri gak.All the best from ME to ME in fighting this situation.... amin.......

A few weeks ago, I experimented this Apam recipe from zara_klate of MyResipi. The apam turned out soft and fluffy. Thanks to Zara_klate for sharing the recipe with all of us. But what I wasn't satisfied about was, why did my kuih apam had small poker dots on it? It's not the fault of the recipe, I'm sure. But what could have caused it? Is it maybe I didn't stir well the ingredients? But I'm sure I stirred well. So if anybody has the answer, please let me know ya. Anyway here's the recipe.....



APAM ENO
Yields 40 - 50 pieces

Ingredients :

300g rice flour
8 - 10 tablespoons white sugar (I think it'll taste nicer if you add another 2 to 3 tablespoons sugar)
1 tablespoon instant dried yeast
280 - 300 ml water
3 teaspoon plain ENO for 3 different colors (1 teaspoon for each color)
red food coloring
green food coloring

Method :

1. Mix flour and water, a little at a time. Then add yeast and sugar. Mix well.
2. Leave the mixture to ferment overnight.
3. Divide the mixture to 3 parts and add coloring. Leave 1 part plain.
4. Add in 1 teaspoon ENO to each part. Stir till it bubbles.
5. Prepare the steamer. Once the water starts to boil, steam the empty cups for a while. Remove from the steamer and pour the mixture into the steamed cups. Place them back on the steamer and steam till done. It will be about 15 minutes.
6. Serve with white grated coconut, preferably steamed for a few minutes. Add a bit of salt to the coconut.

Bahan-bahan
:

300 g tepung beras
8 - 10 sudu besar gula pasir (mama rasa lebih elok kalau ditambah lagi 2 atau 3 sudu)
1 sudu besar yis kering
280 - 300 ml air
3 sudu kecil ENO plain untuk 3 warna berbeza (1 sudu kecil untuk 1 bahagian)
pewarna merah
pewarna hijau

Kaedah penyediaan :

1. Tepung dibancuh dengan air sedikit-sedikit. Kemudian masukkan yis dan gula. Kacau sebati.
2. Bancuhan tepung tadi dibiarkan semalaman (bancuh malam, kukus keesokkan pagi).
3. Bancuhan tepung dibahagi 3. Masukkan pewarna.
4. Masukkan 1 sudu kecil ENO dalam setiap satu warna. Kacau biar berbuih.
5. Sementara itu, panaskan kukus. Bila mendidih, letak acuan apam sekejap dalam periuk kukus. Kemudian tuangkan adunan tadi ke dalam acuan yang telah dipanaskan. Kukus hingga masak.
6. Hidangkan dengan kelapa parut putih yang dicampurkan dengan sedikit garam. Sebaiknya kukuskan kelapa parut tersebut seketika untuk mengelakkan dari basi.
