PUAN BASHAH'S PANDAN CHIFFON CAKE

Tomorrow, 13th September, 2007, all Muslims in Malaysia will start fasting. Happy fasting and may HIS blessings be with us always.....

Haven't been infront of the laptop much these couple of days thus the silence in this page. On Saturday, we went back to Malacca as we weren't going to visit the kids last weekend. They were off to a Kem Ibadah till Sunday evening. Reached my parents house around noon. Had lunch and everyone had a nap except me. I swept and mopped the house in peace! Hahaha...I don't like it when I'm mopping, people will just walk around the place. I hate foot prints on my wet floor....huhuhu....am I a fussypot? You judge!

Soon as the floor is dried, all the three of them woke up. I took a shower and off I went with hubby to Mahkota Parade, just to window shopping. Ended up, at this small cubicle called Pusat Rawatan Cinta. I had back pain and asked hubby if I could get this foot massage treatment aka reflexology. While my feet were being massaged, they had suggested to me to go for this Bekam treatment. You can read more about it here. Actually I was having doubts to go through or just back off like a scary cat! But since hubby said yes, which is much to my surprise because he's always a no no kind of person when it comes to cuts and wounds and all that kind of stuffs, it gave me some kind of strength and confidence. So I went for the treatment. Still scared but I think hubby's spirit is with me all along and it kept me going! Don't want to elaborate more about what and how they did it...I only did 13 cups, 12 at the back and 1 behind the head but the sight of what came out was just scary for me! I think it did good to me...perhaps, I must do it again once all the marks behind my back are gone.......

On Sunday morning, we drove to Johor Bharu with my parents. Mom wanted to meet her relatives before Ramadhan. It's good to meet up again. One of the aunt who's staying in JB has the exact same hobby and interest as me. Oh boy, if we meet up, we'll be chatting about the same topics and it'll carry on and on and on. This aunt of mine is selling cookies and also some handicraft. Actually she prepares the goodies, and her daughter, Puan Halimatun will sell them at Kotaraya infront of Kamdar. So for those who wishes to buy their lovely goodies, please visit her stall ya...Meanwhile, feast your eyes upon these.....


FROM ATON'S STALL....



By 5pm, we were already back in Melaka. Dropped my parents and off to Mahkota Parade. This time, with a mission of course...to wash our car. While the car's being washed, we walked around the mall, taking our own sweet time! Hubby bought me a pair of walking shoes...yippeee, thanks dearest!!! Hah mama...tu dah ada kasut tu...ntah dia jalan ke dak ke pepagi nanti...silap, silap....kasut tu dok dalam kotak je la mamaaaaa....hehehe...tahu...tak pe! He bought himself a pair of shoes as well. After Maghrib, we started our journey back home.....

Monday morning, by 7.10am, I was out of the house, to the market with Kak Ana. I don't like to go to markets but was left with no choice! Hahaha....bought lots of fish as I was advised to stay away, as much as possible from red meat, seafood (except fish) and also soya beans. Lots of veges as well...Once home, cleaned the fishes, hang the clothes and started my projects in the kitchen. Baked 2 blueberry chiffon cake, 1 chocolate chiffon cake, tried Kak Liza's chocolate cake, baked 2 kinds of muffins, baked some cookies, fried spagetti and cooked dinner. My brother and family popped in soon after Maghrib. Served them with fried spagetti. They came to take the samples of the cookies I've made......

Reason why I made 2 blueberry chiffons and 2 kinds of muffins was because 1 blueberry chiffon and 1 muffin recipe just didn't come out right. They were sort of heavy! I think, if it's not the eggs to be blamed, then it's a sign to tell me....ENOUGH IS ENOUGH WOMAN! Chill out!!! Get some rest!!! Hahaha...you know what, whenever I told my mom or my sister or my sister -in-law that I AM TIRED, that really fascinates them...they'll ask me back," MAMA TIRED? Oh so you know what tired is eh?" Hahahahaha...L O L guys!!! Of course I know what's the meaning of T.I.R.E.D....I am a normal human, not a machine! Hehehe....

Oh oh...I've written THIS long eh and I thought I got nothing to write! Hahaha...Ok ok...not to bore you guys more, let's just get on with the recipe to share....mmm, which one first now...I have quite a long list in queue...cehhhh...eksen semacam! Wakakakaka...biarkannnn biarkannnn.... Ok, let me share Puan Bashah's Pandan Chiffon Cake recipe which I've kidnapped from Muna's Fotopage. Thanks again to both of you lovely ladies, Muna and Puan Bashah for sharing this lovely recipe....



PUAN BASHAH'S PANDAN CHIFFON CAKE

Ingredients A
:

6 egg whites
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

Ingredients B :

6 egg yolks
100 g sugar
120 g self raising flour
8 tbsp pandan water (quarter teaspoon pandan paste + water)
(I used pandan essence + green coloring + water)
5 tbsp corn oil

Method :

1. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff.
2. In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks and sugar until sugar has dissolved.
3. Add in pandan water and mix thoroughly.
4. Add in corn oil.
5. Fold in sifted flour.
6. Using the spatula mix together mixture B into mixture A.
7. Pour into the chiffon mould and bake at 160C - 170C for 45-50 minutes
8. It's very important to turn the cake upside down immediately out of the oven. Leave it to cool. Remove the cake from the mould by using a sharp knife

Bahan-bahan A
:

6 putih telur
1/4 sudu kecil cream of tartar

Bahan-bahan B :

6 kuning telur
100 g gula halus
120 g tepung naik sendiri
8 sudu besar air pandan (1/4 sudu kecil pes pandan + air)
(Mama guna esen pandan + pewarna hijau + air)
5 sudu besar minyak jagung

Kaedah penyediaan :

1. Pukul putih telur dengan cream of tartar hingga kental.
2. Di dalam mangkuk yang lain, pukul kuning telur dan gula hingga gula larut.
3. Masukkan air pandan dan kacau sebati.
4. Tuangkan minyak jagung.
5. Kaup balikkan tepung yang telah diayak.
6. Dengan menggunakan spatula, kaup balikkan bahan A ke dalam bahan B hingga sebati.
7. Tuangkan bancuhan ke dalam loyang chifon dan bakar dalam ketuhar yang telah dipanaskan terlebih dahulu pada suhu 160C - 170C selama 45 - 50 minit.
8. Terbalikkan loyang, sejurus selepas dikeluarkan dari ketuhar dan biarkan sejuk. Keluarkan kek dari loyang dengan menggunakan pisau yang tajam.
