STRAWBERRY CHIFFON CAKE

 
 
 
 
 
Today's my darling daughter's special day. She turned 14! Happy birthday my darling.



And for today's recipe, I will paste Fatin's favourite cake recipe, Strawberry Chiffon Cake. It's actually Puan Bashah Azmi's Pandan Chiffon Cake recipe but I transformed it into Strawberry Chiffon Cake. I came across this lovely recipe at Muna's Fotopage. Thank you Puan Bashah Azmi and Muna for sharing this recipe with us.....The original recipe can be browsed here. The recipe that I'm pasting here is what I did two days ago...


STRAWBERRY CHIFFON CAKE

Ingredients
:

75 g self-raising flour
4 egg yolks
75 g sugar
3 tablespoons oil
8 tablespoons fresh milk
1 teaspoon strawberry essence
1/3 tsp salt
pink food coloring
4 egg whites
2/3 teaspoon cream of tartar

Method :

1. Preheat oven to 160°C.
2. Beat egg yolks until pale and foamy.
3. Combine self-raising flour, sugar, oil, fresh milk, strawberry essence, food coloring, salt and egg yolks in a big bowl, stirring with a whisk until mixture is well combined.
4. Place egg whites in a large bowl. Beat with a mixer at high speed until foamy. Add cream of tartar; beat until soft peaks form. Gently stir one-fourth of egg white mixture into flour mixture; gently fold in remaining egg white mixture.
5. Spoon batter into an ungreased tube pan, spreading evenly. Break air pockets by cutting through batter with a knife. Bake at 160° for 45 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched. Invert pan; cool completely. Loosen cake from sides of pan using a narrow metal spatula. Invert cake onto plate.
