GULAI AYAM & NANGKA (YangMazni)

 
When mama starts feeling uncertain, that's when she hates it the most. I tend to feel tired, just by thinking what actually that I must do. Must I do this, must I do that...grrrrrr! Have you ever felt that way? If so, how do you handle that situation? Because sometimes this uncertainty will lead you to not doing anything the whole day!

From morning, I was trying to think of what must I cook for lunch. Just can't decide on anything. Finally when it was running late, I just have to follow my tummy! Hahaha...and I ended up with these.....



Thanks a bunch to my sensei YangMazni for sharing this recipe with us. Arigatou gozaimashita....wah, mentang-mentang cikgu dok Jepun, kita pun dah konon konon nak cakap Jepun plak eh...salah ke betul, hentam je la....hihihi.....When I saw her Gulai Ayam & Nangka, I was just drooling for that jackfruit (nangka). Then I had asked for the recipe which she kindly put in her page. Since it's not jackfruit season and canned jackfruit is not available here, I had to make do with just green beans and chicken. Better something than nothing! Hahaha....So here's the recipe if you care to try...and oh, sorry dear Maz because mama just copy and paste your recipe for my Bahasa Malaysia version and also I had to alter the name of the recipe. I can't put 'Nangka' as the title when I'm showing 'green beans' in the photo



GULAI AYAM DAN KACANG BONCIS

Ingredients :


Onion
1 inch ginger
3 cloves garlic
lemon grass
tumeric
cardamon
cinnamon stick
star anise
1 tablespoon curry powder
chicken ~ cut to pieces
coconut milk
salt & sugar to taste
cooking oil

Method :

1. Blend onion, ginger, garlic, lemon grass and tumeric to a paste.
2. Heat oil in a pot. Add in the blended ingredients, cardamon, cinnamon stick and star anise. Fry till fragrant.
3. Add in the curry powder and stir well. Add a bit of water if it's too dry.
4. Add in chicken pieces and let it cook.
5. Pour in the coconut milk and let it boil.
6. Put in the beans, salt and sugar.
7. When beans are cooked, remove from heat and serve with rice.

Blendkan bawang besar (sebelah, depends on the size , sebab kat sini tak dak bawang merah ), 1 inci halia, 3 ulas bawang putih, kunyit dan sebatang serai, pastu tumiskan hingga naik bau bersama2 dengan rempah tumis i.e. buah pelaga, kulit kayu manis dan bunga lawang, then masukkan sket serbuk kari (1 sudu serbuk kari ayam/daging) .... tumis lagi hingga naik minyak, pastu masukkan 600 gm ayam yang telah dipotong kecil .... bila ayam dah agak empuk, bolehlah masukkan santan. Then bila menggelegak, masukkanlah nangka .... kemudian rasakan garam n gula, bila dah masak, boleh angkat dan hidangkan.
