APAM CUP WARNA WARNI (Mok_Nik)

I slept late yesterday, almost midnight and was up by 4.30am. But alhamdulillah I don't feel tired or whatsoever, maybe because that 4 1/2 hours sleep is a very good deep one I think. And since I've already planned what I'll do for breakfast this morning, so less hassle in the kitchen. These were what we had for breakfast....



At first Syahmi had refused to eat the baked beans, scrambled eggs and toast. Instead, he wanted just cereals. But when he heard the sister busy munching away her breakfast, he just can't take it. He said...ma...the sound of kakak munching on the toast makes me change my mind! Hahaha...But it's true...It always happen to me when I was younger. I just love to sit and keep my mom company while she's eating. And she would ask me to join her. Confidently, I'll decline saying that my tummy is full. But after 5 minutes of 'torture' with the sound and the way she was enjoying her food, I finally gave up. Took a plate and dish out myself! And sometimes ended up eating more than my mom!!! Oh my goodness!!! That's what sound effects can do to you! It's still happening to me, except now, that 'unbearable' sound will come from hubby and the kids! Hahaha......

A few days ago, I had shown Nabia the photo of my experiment for that day. She had asked for the recipe, so that she has some idea what to try over the weekend. And since this recipe doesn't require any bakings, just steaming, I think, she'd be able to do it, if she wants. So....thanks a bunch to Mok_Nik from Forum Cari for sharing this Ambon Cup Warna Warni recipe with us...I made 4 versions actually...you'll know as you scroll down the photos.....hahahaha......



AMBON CUP WARNA WARNI (Mok_Nik)

Ingredients :


5 eggs
2 cups castor sugar
2 cups Icecream soda
(I used Sprite)
1 teaspoon ovalette
3 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
banana essence
(I used vanilla essence)
food coloring

Method :

1. Using a mixer, beat egg, sugar and ovalette till fluffy and light cream color.
2. Pour in the Icecream Soda/Sprite/7Up. Continue beating and add in essence.
3. Sift flour and baking powder and add into the mixture, little at a time. Continue beating till light and fluffy.
4. Scoop into small cups and sketch using a toothpick.
5. Steam for about 10 - 15 minutes.

I made only half the recipe. Had to save on the ovalette because my ovalette stock is at a critical stage now...finishing... I guess, if I come across a recipe with ovalette, I'll just have to close one eye and pretend I didn't see it! If you ask me, among all the versions shown here, I prefer the 'laziest version' because then I can feel like I am eating apam. Those in the small cups are just like melt in the mouth without having to munch much! So no excercise, no challenge...hahaha.....Anyway, different people has different taste. I'm just letting you know mine.....have a nice and safe weekend everyone.....
